The Golden Retriever Club Belgium (GRCB) attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data and that your privacy is respected.

IIn this privacy statement, we want to provide clear and transparent information about what data we collect and how we handle personal data. We make every effort to ensure your privacy and therefore handle personal data with care. The GRCB complies in all cases with the applicable laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation.  

This entails that we will in any case:.  

  • uprocess your personal data in accordance with the purpose for which it was provided, these purposes and types of personal data are described in this Privacy Statement;
  • limit the processing of your personal data to only those data that are minimally necessary for the purposes for which they are processed;   
    ask for your explicit consent if we need it for processing your personal data;

Why do we process personal dataY

Your personal data are processed by the GRCB for the following purposes and legal grounds :

  • To create the membership list of the GRCB
  • To participate in the activities of the GRCB
  • Sending newsletters and invitations.
  • Listing stud dogs and puppy mediation on the website.
  • Obtaining the licences of the KKUSH.

For the above purposes, we may request, store and process the following personal data from you :

  • Personal identity data : name, first name, address, telephone number, e-mail, date of birth, language.

We use the data collected only for the purposes for which we obtained the data.

Communication to third parties

We may disclose the data you give to us to third parties if this is necessary for carrying out the purposes described above.

For example, we use a third party for:

  • providing the internet environment (web hosting);
  • providing and distributing newsletters and invitations.
  • We never pass on personal data to other parties with whom we have not concluded a processing agreement.
  • taking out insurance through the licences of the KKUSH.

Mith these parties (processors) we naturally make the necessary agreements to ensure the security of your personal data.

Furthermore, we will not disclose the data you provide to third parties, unless required and permitted by law. An example of this is when the police request (personal) data from us as part of an investigation. In such a case, we are obliged to cooperate and hand over these data.

We may also share personal data with third parties if you give us permission to do so.  You have the right to withdraw this consent at any time, without prejudice to the lawfulness of the processing prior to its withdrawal. We do not provide personal data to parties located outside the EU.

Minors

We only process personal data of minors (persons under 16 years of age) if written consent has been given by the parent or legal representative.

Retention period

The GRCB does not retain personal data for longer than a maximum of 5 years after its last use.

Data security

We have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data of yours from unlawful processing, for example, we have taken the following measures;

  • All persons who may have access to your data on behalf of the GRCB are bound to secrecy thereof;
  • We maintain a username and password policy on all our systems;
  • We make backups of the personal data in order to be able to restore it in case of physical or technical incidents;
  • We regularly test and evaluate our measures;
  • Our employees are informed about the importance of protecting personal data.

Your rights regarding your data

You have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we have received from you.  You can contact us at the top of this privacy statement.  

You can also object to the processing of your personal data by us or one of our processors.

You also have the right to have us transfer the data you have provided to yourself or on your behalf directly to another party. We may ask you to identify yourself before we can comply with the aforementioned requests.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about the processing of your personal data, please contact us directly about this.  You always have the right to file a complaint with the Privacy Commission, which is the supervisory authority in the field of privacy protection.
